Geek P.O.D.: Continuing Education.
As a Strength & Conditioning Specialist, it is important for us to keep up to date with the latest research in training in order to implement them. Even as a trainer, it is crucial for us to maintain our accreditations and get new ones to ensure varied effective workouts for our clients. Evidence-based training is important as such methods have been tested and proven. Plus now, the clientele is very knowledge through search engines like Google and they can easily get the information you have from the web.
So make sure in whatever you do, constantly upgrade yourself and not lag behind. Doing 4 minutes of bodyweight squats is not evidence based in my opinion even from an elite athlete perspective, worse still for the normal population. Learn to keep up with the times, if not just do not even bother at all.
